Increasing the awareness of GLOF

Due to rising temperatures, glaciers in Pakistan are melting rapidly, resulting in the formation of glacial lakes - prone to hazardous Glacial Lake Outburst Flooding (GLOF). GLOF are sudden events that can release millions of cubic meters of water and debris, leading to the loss of lives, property, and livelihoods. As a project for the government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the UNDP, STEP worked with Visual Prophecy to create a documentary on GLOF.

"STEP aims to utilize innovative and new media technologies to meet its objectives and functions. It is our hope that by creating powerful media, we can increase the effectiveness of our messaging and reach a larger number of people. We strongly believe that climate change poses an existential threat to humanity and we hope to play our small role in fighting back against this common enemy."

- Hassan Rashid President, STEP
